The terms, plainly stated.

Short version: this app tracks numbers you give it and does arithmetic on them. That's information, not advice; check anything important with a professional before acting on it; and your financial decisions remain yours. The longer version follows.

1. Who these terms are between

The FWF Ledger app (app.financewithoutfluff.com, the “app”) is owned and operated by Kaivora LLC, a U.S. limited liability company. By creating an account or using the app you agree to these terms. If you don't agree with them, the fix is simple: don't use the app. The static site at financewithoutfluff.com is run by the same company under its own terms.

2. Information, not advice

Everything the app produces — net worth totals, the debt payoff plan and its projected debt-free date, budget targets, savings goal contributions, the subscription list, the weekly check-in, the reports, including the interest report and the December figures — is general informational and educational output, calculated from figures you entered or from balances your bank reported. Nothing here is financial, investment, legal, tax, accounting, or lending advice, and nothing here is a recommendation to take or avoid any financial action.

Reports are not tax documents. The reports show figures your lenders reported to us and nothing more. They are not issued by your lender, are not a Form 1098, 1098-E, or any other tax form, are not a substitute for one, and are not complete — we receive only a fraction of what appears on a lender's own year-end document, and our record may begin after a loan did or miss a month. Your lender's document, and your own records, are what govern. Nothing in a report determines what you may claim, deduct, or file.

We are not licensed financial advisors, brokers, dealers, lenders, accountants, or attorneys, and the app is not a brokerage, advisory, or money-transmission service. It does not buy, sell, trade, transfer, or hold any money or financial asset, and it offers no guidance on which securities, funds, or other assets to hold. Where an investment or retirement account is connected, the app displays its total value as one line in your net worth and nothing more — it does not read, analyse, or comment on the holdings inside it.

Before making decisions that matter — refinancing, retirement choices, which debt to prioritise, whether a budget is realistic — verify the numbers with a qualified professional who can see your full situation.

3. Accuracy, and its limits

We work hard to get the math right, and the planners disclose their assumptions. But estimates are estimates. A payoff projection assumes rates and payments hold steady, which real life does not guarantee. Balances arrive through Plaid from your bank and can be delayed, stale, or wrong — your statement is the authority, not this app. Anything you typed in yourself is only as good as what you typed. The app and its output are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted availability. If you find an error, tell us and we'll fix it.

4. Your decisions are yours

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Kaivora LLC and anyone involved in making this app will not be liable for any loss or damage — direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or otherwise — arising from your use of, or reliance on, the app or anything it calculates. That includes financial decisions made using the planners. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain liability limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

5. Your account and your data

Unlike the static site, this app keeps your data on our servers so it syncs across your devices. You can export all of it as CSV or JSON at any time, and deleting your account deletes it — one confirmation, effective immediately, with any bank connection revoked at the source. Keep your login credentials to yourself; you're responsible for activity under your account. If you share a household, the people you share with can see the accounts you've marked as household-visible. What we store, who else touches it, and how long it's kept is set out in the privacy policy; what we'll never do with it is on the promises page.

6. Bank connections

Bank connections run through Plaid, and they are read-only: the app can see balances and account details, and it cannot move money, make payments, or change anything at your bank. Your bank credentials go to Plaid, never to us — we never see or store them. Connecting an account also means accepting Plaid's own terms and privacy policy, shown to you during the connection flow. You can disconnect any account at any time from settings, and manual entry always remains available as a full alternative.

7. Acceptable use

Don't attempt to disrupt the app, access other people's data, scrape it, or republish substantial portions of it without permission. The app's content, design, and code are the property of Kaivora LLC unless otherwise noted. The numbers you put in remain yours.

8. Plans, and changes to them

The free tier never asks for a card. What the paid plan costs, and which features are paid, is on the pricing page and committed to on the promises page. Paid subscriptions are billed by Stripe; cancelling is one click, never a conversation, and takes effect at the end of the period you've already paid for.

Refunds, plainly: cancelling stops the next charge — it doesn't return money for time already billed. There are no partial-period refunds; you keep the paid features until the period ends, which is what you paid for. Kaivora may grant a refund as a goodwill gesture, case by case, at its sole discretion — that's a courtesy, not a term you can rely on. “Cancel anytime” means no further charges, ever, and no conversation required; it does not mean money back.

These terms may change as the app evolves; the “Last updated” date above reflects the current version, and continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the U.S. state in which Kaivora LLC is organized, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
